Presentation Redesign: Goanna Academy.

When delivering educational content to young audiences, clarity, engagement, and energy are everything. For Goanna Academy’s school clinic presentations, the challenge was to transform existing materials into a more dynamic, visually engaging experience that could better connect with students and enhance learning outcomes.

Project Overview

Goanna Academy delivers school-based clinics focused on mental health, wellbeing, and performance. Their presentations are a key touchpoint—often shaping how students engage with important topics like resilience, mindset, and self-awareness.

While the original presentations contained strong content, they lacked the visual impact and structure needed to fully capture and maintain student attention. The redesign focused on creating a more engaging, modern presentation system that supports both the presenter and the audience.

Key Objectives

  • Increase student engagement and attention

  • Simplify and clarify key messages

  • Create a consistent and recognisable visual style

  • Support presenters with better flow and structure

  • Ensure adaptability across different age groups

Design Approach

1. Visual Simplification.

Content was refined to reduce clutter and cognitive overload. Slides were redesigned to focus on one key idea at a time, using concise messaging and strong visual hierarchy.

2. Engaging Visual Language.

A bold, energetic design style was introduced to better resonate with students. This included vibrant colour use, modern typography, and graphic elements that reinforce key concepts without overwhelming the content.

3. Structured Storytelling.

The presentations were reworked to follow a clearer narrative flow. Each section builds logically on the last, helping students stay engaged and better retain information.

4. Presenter-Friendly Layouts. Slides were designed not just for the audience, but for the presenter. Clear cues, pacing, and logical sequencing allow facilitators to deliver content more confidently and naturally.

5. Flexible System for Different Audiences. A modular design system was created so content can be adapted for different age groups and session types—ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility.

Results

The redesigned presentations significantly improved the delivery and impact of Goanna Academy’s school clinics. Sessions became more engaging, easier to follow, and more memorable for students.

Key improvements include:

  • Higher levels of student engagement and participation

  • Clearer communication of key messages

  • More confident and consistent delivery by presenters

  • A scalable system for future content development

Final Thoughts

In educational environments, design plays a critical role in how information is received and retained. A well-designed presentation doesn’t just look better—it works better.

For Goanna Academy, this redesign transformed their presentations into a more powerful tool for connection, learning, and impact.

If your presentations aren’t holding attention or delivering results, it may not be the content—it may be how it’s presented.
